Are you?? This week has been such a long week. I have been super busy keeping up with my daily schedule and the lack of sleep is catching up to me. It isn’t easy, but I know it will all be worth it in the end. Today I want to talk to you guys about overcoming challenges. I know I have plenty, and at times I find it frustrating and wanting to quit.

I love that I am building my own brand and trying to start a career to work for myself. However, being a fashion/lifestyle blogger comes with a price. I cannot tell you how many times I have sacrificed other things I know I need to do/enjoy because I want to work and better myself. This career I want to start can be demanding if that is the right word. If you look at my feed and other bloggers’ feed, or their blog, it looks like we are enjoying life and everything is colorful and pretty. Well get this guys, we are just like you! We also struggle through many things in life. It may not be the same exact issue but we all have hardships.

As a blogger, I want to inspire people by being creative and to create quality content for my viewers. I love pushing my limits and willing myself to create content through both my writing and my photos. Behind the scenes, I follow a strict schedule to make sure I meet deadlines. I cannot tell you how much time I spend on my phone and in front of my computer, whether looking for inspiration, replying and commenting on others’ feed, or editing pictures. This does take a lot of work and tremendous amount of time, but I will save all those details for another post to share with you all!

Nowadays, it seems like everyone is looking to social media for validation, such as how much followers you have and likes you receive on your posts. Brands do look at these things especially if they are considering to sponsor you. Don’t get me wrong, it is the business. But at times I do catch myself over-thinking, and the little voice inside my head repeatedly tells me I am not good enough. Knowing that I have to keep up with everyone else, I get overwhelmed which causes me to always want to work harder and longer hours so I can achieve more.

I miss out on everyday life, and lose sight of the present. I also miss out on getting a full night’s sleep. I miss out on going to the gym everyday to pump out stress and stay in shape. These are just a few things I came to realize I am sacrificing to get the work done. This is one of my biggest challenges that I am currently grappling with.

Because I want to better myself, I look inwards and ask what I have to do to overcome this? I have to recognize my worth and believe in myself. More importantly, I have to stop comparing myself to others and become comfortable in my own skin.

We are so caught up in this virtual world, we tend to forget about what is real and what is in front of us. Yes, there are others out there who are better, prettier, or smarter than you. But know that there is only one of you and no one else can be a better you than YOU. By thinking and looking at things that way, I have learned that I am happy with who I am. I am accepting that there are so many other things for me to learn with so much room and potential to grow on my own terms and my own time.

It shouldn’t matter how many likes, or followers I have. As long as I do the right things, those will come in due time. And I very much appreciate the ones that do follow and give me support along the way! Thank you!

So guys, if you can relate to this, let’s all promise ourselves to be happy with who we are. This promise is something we must do everyday. It is our daily commitment to love and accept ourselves with the intent of bettering not just our own lives, but also the people around us. Let’s change the way we look at the situation, look at it in a better light. Perception is reality. Climb those mountains to see the world! Be happy with who you are and what you are doing because you have a great thing going for you. You have the power to create your own happiness.

That leads me to this photoshoot, I was going for the empowering look by wearing a crimson red dress with gold gladiators. These gladiators remind me of a Greek Goddess. When I put this outfit on I felt powerful, unstoppable, filled with the utmost confidence in myself. This dress is also very lightweight. I love the oval shapes at the end of the dress leaving the sides of my legs open. I think that is the sexiest part of the dress, it shows off so much of your legs and that is why I wore the gladiators! They are super comfy and the fact that they are golden makes it even better! I must say it was a fun day pretending to be a Greek Goddess for this shoot!

Enjoy your weekend,

Love Linh
