Who said Work is Boring?

“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.”

I used to think work and professional attire are boring, black and white, grey suits, etc.

But it really doesn’t have to be, I love that we can incorporate colors and patters into our work wardrobe! Since I’ve graduated college, I have been in the business industry for about 2 years now and it is exciting to get to play with my work outfits. As you all know I am petite so finding work attire is extremely hard for me even when I go to The Limited (PETITE SECTION)… the clothes are still big on me especially pants! It is either my booty is too small for a size 0 or my legs are way too short for a size 0 – short. Welcome to my short people problem life.

Instead of being upset about it all the time, I found a way to make it work, I get my pants tailored only for the winter because I am not a fan of the cold and wearing dresses and skirts and stockings to work… stockings are kind of uncomfortable and I can never be warm enough. Anyway, I tend to either wear lots of dresses or skirts for work because they can actually fit me!

So with this look, I had a dark burgundy color dress but with this look I turned it into a top by tucking it into a pencil skirt. I love the pattern on this pencil skirt and the two zippers on the sides! The color that stood out the most to me on the skirt was the burgundy color which is why I picked the top to match with it. Since I wanted the top and the skirt to pop out, I had on a nude blazer and nude heels. No need to put on a necklace with this look since the top has crisscross strings to give this outfit some spice!

I just love how simple this outfit is yet it has so much to say.

What do you guys think?
